Checking for a Warrant in Sentinel
Sentinel publishes no online warrant-search form or payment portal. The state's official directory lists Town Hall at 316 E. Main, Sentinel, OK 73664, open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at (580) 393-2171. Call or visit for any citation or municipal court question, since that office is where a warrant check has to happen in person.
- Gather the citation, case number, legal name, and court date.
- Call Sentinel Town Hall and ask which clerk or judge holds the matter.
- Ask whether the file is a traffic, ordinance, FTA, bond, or warrant case.
- Use OSCN if the town says it is a District Court case.
- Call the county Court Clerk or sheriff for county status only after the venue is clear.
A blank Most Wanted result cannot clear a Sentinel municipal case.
Sentinel Police and Municipal Court
Sentinel's Chapter 32 governs the municipal court, the clerk, the marshal, summons, traffic, failure to appear, costs, and warrants. Under that code, all municipal writs and process go to the Court Marshal. That role belongs to the Chief of Police, so a town police question is not the same as a Washita County sheriff question.

Sentinel Municipal Marshal
The town code identifies the Chief of Police as marshal.
The town's own clerk remains the best status contact.
Sentinel Warrant Types
Sentinel's municipal process deals mainly with town ordinances and traffic cases. A District Court matter runs on a different court file entirely. Name the venue first, then ask about the warrant.
| Type | How it can arise | First question |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic warrant | Missed citation response, date, or payment | Which clerk holds the citation? |
| Municipal arrest warrant | Judge-approved sworn complaint | Was the complaint approved? |
| FTA or bench warrant | Missed summons, setting, or bond | Can the judge reset or recall it? |
| District Court warrant | County criminal or traffic case | Does OSCN show the case? |
Sentinel follows its own town code. Do not borrow payment rules from Burns Flat or New Cordell.
Sentinel Marshal Service Rule
Section 32.08 lets the Chief of Police, or an officer the town designates, serve a municipal arrest warrant or summons anywhere in Washita County. Section 32.12 works differently: a sworn complaint approved by the municipal judge goes to the Marshal, who executes it through the town police force or an authorized person. Keep one caution in mind. The online code may lag behind the newest legislation, so ask Town Hall for the current printed rule when the details matter to the case.
Sentinel Chief as Marshal
The police chief's marshal role changes who you call. Payment or recall questions go to the municipal clerk or judge, while questions about whether a city warrant was served go to the Chief of Police or a designated marshal. Neither contact is replaced by the county sheriff's Most Wanted page. Verify the current police contact through Town Hall, since an association directory lists a separate police address and phone that the town contact should confirm.
Sentinel Warrant Record Fields
Sentinel publishes no public record form for warrants. A local file may still show plenty: a citation or complaint, the ordinance, dates, court events, bond or costs, summons service, the warrant, its return, and any recall information.
| Case number | Use the number given by Town Hall. No public Sentinel format was posted. |
|---|---|
| Complaint | Section 32.12 connects an approved sworn complaint to a municipal arrest warrant. |
| Marshal | Service may be recorded through the Chief of Police or designated town officer. |
| Status | Ask whether the process is active, served, returned, recalled, or set for court. |
| Proof | Request a receipt, order, new date, or written clerk confirmation. |
A sheriff-list blank is not a city-court status.
Sentinel Court Questions
Before paying or appearing, ask the court what it allows: a reset, bond, payment, recall, or a hearing before the judge. Sentinel's town code covers traffic, FTA, costs, and warrants, but no online payment or recall form exists. The clerk can tell you what the current printed code says about each option.
Use the town route: Do not assume the county sheriff, OSCN, or a Most Wanted card contains every Sentinel municipal event.
District Court cases belong to the county Court Clerk at 111 E. Main, 3rd Floor, Cordell, (580) 832-3836. Service or custody questions go to the sheriff at (580) 832-2370. Keep Sentinel's town contacts separate from those county numbers.
How Sentinel Warrants Fit the County
Sentinel Municipal Court and Chief of Police marshal › Washita County Sheriff when county service or custody is involved › no single public Oklahoma warrant system. For the larger county path, use the Washita County warrant records home, OSCN, and the Court Clerk. The city-to-county connection does not turn the sheriff's curated list into a complete Sentinel register.
County-wide information here runs thin. For a town citation, Sentinel Town Hall and the municipal clerk stay the first stop.
Sentinel Warrant Records and Access
Sentinel records fall under the Oklahoma Open Records Act. Some material stays limited, though, including protected law-enforcement files and sealed records. Juvenile records are confidential under 10A O.S. ยง 1-6-102.
Access rule: Ask Sentinel Town Hall for the city file and any reason for redaction. Ask the sheriff only for county records it maintains.
The code's own site warns that its online version may trail the newest local law. Confirm the current printed code, and the status of any recalled warrant, with the municipal clerk before you act on it in Sentinel.
