If a New Cordell warrant question is on your mind, start with the city ticket. Most warrants here grow out of a city code violation, a citation, a summons, or a complaint, and the municipal court controls them. The New Cordell Police Department enforces; the City Clerk and the municipal judge hold the paper. County matters run on a separate track through the Washita County Sheriff's Office and the Court Clerk. The city posts no public warrant search, so call City Hall for the current court counter and payment route. Turn to OSCN or the sheriff only once a case has moved into county records. The issuing court is the office that can confirm, reset, or recall a warrant.

Checking for a Warrant in New Cordell

New Cordell posts no public warrant list, warrant lookup, or warrant phone line online. The city homepage does offer a Court Tickets or City Permits route. Start there. Then ask the City Clerk which record holds your ticket and whether it shows a warrant, a payment, a reset, or a court date. That one call answers what the web page will not.

  1. Keep the citation, case number, legal name, and court notice together.
  2. Open the New Cordell city homepage and use its current court-ticket route.
  3. Call City Hall to verify the court counter, payment fields, and the 2026 move from older City Hall information.
  4. Search OSCN if the matter is a District Court case.
  5. Call the Washita Court Clerk or sheriff only when the case has a county docket or service question.

A blank sheriff result does not clear a New Cordell municipal citation.

New Cordell Police and Municipal Court

The New Cordell Police Department page handles public-service and emergency contact, nothing more. It posts no warrant lookup or records form. The municipal court sits under Chapter 32 of the city code. A city citation or municipal warrant belongs to that court, not to the police web page.

New Cordell Warrant Types

Chapter 32 separates the city paths that can end in a warrant. New Cordell handles ordinance and traffic matters locally. A felony or county misdemeanor case may belong to District Court instead.

City processHow it can ariseFirst office
Traffic warrantMissed citation response, arraignment, or paymentMunicipal court clerk
Ordinance warrantVerified complaint and judge-approved processMunicipal judge

A New Cordell city ticket is not automatically a District Court case. Let the clerk confirm venue first.

New Cordell Complaint Rule

Under Section 32.12, an ordinary New Cordell prosecution starts with a written complaint signed and verified by the complainant. The judge signs off. Under Section 32.14, no municipal arrest warrant issues without the municipal judge's approval, and a failure to appear or answer after summons service can trigger warrant process. None of this creates a public search form. Ask the City Clerk for the case status and the current route for payment, reset, bond, or recall. A recall runs through the court.

New Cordell Bail Schedule

Section 32.17 allows bail after arrest, after an appearance on a citation or summons, or before trial. Nights and emergencies get special treatment. The Chief of Police or a designee may take a temporary cash bond of at least $100, capped at the ordinance maximum. Personal recognizance is possible too. The judge or Chief can authorize it for an eligible resident. These are New Cordell city rules, not a countywide bond schedule. Ask the clerk which conditions fit your case.

Inside a New Cordell Warrant Record

A New Cordell case file may carry a citation or cause number, the complaint or ordinance, a court date, a failure-to-appear entry, and a bond, fine, or recall. The city posts no warrant-number format. Ask the clerk what identifies your case.

Citation or causeUse the number on the ticket or court notice. A city format is not the same as a Washita District Court CF or CM number.

Do not rely on a county card to fill a missing city field.

New Cordell City Hall Move

New Cordell's homepage announced a 2026 move toward 120 W. 1st Street, Cordell. Older city code still uses 101 E. Main. The two addresses conflict. Verify the current City Hall and court counter before a court-ticket visit, and only then bring payment or ask for a record. The homepage payment link shows no vendor fields. Ask the clerk what case number, name, payment method, or receipt it needs. Paying online may not recall a municipal warrant; only the court can confirm that.

Before travel: Confirm the current address, court hours, payment route, and whether the court requires a judge order or new appearance.

New Cordell's local warrant process stands apart from the one at Burns Flat's Town Hall calendar and Sentinel's marshal rule.

How New Cordell Warrants Fit the County

New Cordell municipal court or police process › Washita County Sheriff when county service is involved › no single public Oklahoma warrant system. A city warrant does not automatically become a full sheriff-list entry. For District Court context, use the Washita County warrant records home and the county Court Clerk at 111 E. Main, 3rd Floor, (580) 832-3836. The sheriff's public service number is (580) 832-2370.

The county route stays brief by design. For any New Cordell ticket, the city court remains the first source.

New Cordell Warrant Records and Access

The Oklahoma Open Records Act frames public access to New Cordell's city records. Not everything opens. Protected law-enforcement material, sealed records, and confidential investigations can be withheld or redacted. Juvenile court records are confidential under 10A O.S. ยง 1-6-102.

Access rule: Ask the City Clerk for the releasable city record and the reason for any withheld part. The sheriff cannot create a municipal report it does not keep.

County cases go to OSCN and the Court Clerk. Keep a city case with New Cordell, and confirm every status change with the issuing court.
